NetIDme Service

“Purely for Parents” is the latest in a series of initiatives being rolled out under the CEOP Centre’s ThinkuKnow banner. Its aim is simple: to bring parents and guardians more up to speed with the way in which the internet is integral to children’s lives and to help them understand ways of making the online experience safer for children of all ages.

The programme – which has been requested by thousands of teachers and parents from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – will be delivered both through specially designed parents evenings at local schools as well as through an online facility at thinkuknow.co.uk/parents.

NetIDme welcomes Cybertip.ca’s Not in the Loop? campaign which is designed to increase adult awareness regarding risks for children when communicating via instant messaging. Many parents are probably not aware that strangers can contact their kids online in instant messaging services, so the more campaigns that highligh this the better.

The NetIDme campaign, stranger danger is up for a CIPR award. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 16th November
